After being included in one of the most prestigious specialized rankings in the US, Lake Nona closes 2018 with another recognition: the planned community is again among the best-selling of the year, ranking 16th in the list of John Burns Real Estate Consulting.
As already reported on NonaToday, Lake Nona was the 15th best-selling planned community of 2018, according to the RCLCO ranking. It is the seventh consecutive year that Lake Nona integrates the two lists, which are based on total residential real estate sold in a year. In 2018, 507 new contracts were closed in Central Florida locale.
“2018 was a great year for Lake Nona,” said Craig Collin, Senior Vice President of Tavistock Development Company in an official statement from the company. “We offer premier amenities, a robust community programming calendar, wellbeing and performance-driven opportunities, one-of-a-kind healthcare studies, and residential layouts that combine to encourage a sense of community among neighbors.”
Among the 507 contracts closed last year, the highlights are with Lake Nona Golf & Country Club and Laureate Park. The 600-acre club recorded its best year to date with 22 resale properties, 10 new lot sales, and 13 new home sales in 2018. Sales within the Lake Nona Golf & Country Club totaled nearly $60 million.
Laureate Park, Lake Nona’s largest and best-selling neighborhood, also recorded its best year with 377 sales totaling approximately $185 million in 2018.
Alongside Lake Nona, Florida’s other three planned communities stood out in the rankings:The Villages and Lakewood Ranch in Sarasota; and Nocatee in Jacksonville.
