Orlando International Airport prepares to increase passenger numbers at Christmas

Christmas is approaching and people who are going to spend the holiday with their family in Florida are already aware that Orlando International Airport (MCO) is one of the busiest in the country. At this time of year, increased passenger flow is expected and terminal management believes that the volume of visitors will exceed the numbers already registered at the airport in other years.

Phil Brown, Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, released a statement detailing how the terminal prepared for the holiday season – measures that have been in place since the Thanksgiving holiday in November.

In a article on the Disney Information website, Brown said “when passengers arrive at Orlando International Airport they will see just how busy we have been over this past year, enhancing their overall airport experience. From new artistic flooring and state-of-the-art ticket counters to enhanced wayfinding and expanded security checkpoints, we have been preparing for this extremely busy time of year and we are ready.”

Being in Orlando over the Christmas period is an opportunity to enjoy Disney and Universal parks and resorts. Those who prefer to be in contact with nature can visit the Everglades National Park, which welcomes visitors every day of the year.
