In Watkins Glen Celso Neto starts last and finished in seventh place

After failing to qualify due to problems with a fuel pump sensor, Brazilian Celso Neto started last, but made a recovery run and got 7th place, both in the race on Saturday (23) and on Sunday (24), among 11 cars in the TC class of the TC America Series, which was held at Watkins Glen International, in the state of New York – USA, last weekend.

Aboard his Honda Civic Type R TC, the 17-year-old driver still managed to place 16th in the General Classification, out of 31 vehicles.  The result was considered very good by the VGRT and Honda HPD team, considering it was the first time both in Watkins Glen and in the competition, known as one of the most competitive in the world among Touring cars.

“It was very nice because I managed to gain a lot of positions and fought with the lead pack, the result could still have been better, if it wasn’t for the entry of the Safety Car in the first race and a spin of a BMW driver, in front of me, forcing me to lose a lot of time in order to avoid a collision. It was a great learning experience”, revealed Celso Neto.

The championship continues on August 20 and 21, at Road America, in Wisconsin.  Celso Neto is sponsored by AMED S/A, Oeste Cotton, Dipromed, LS Inter Bank, Prospect and Supermed.  Support RGE, Sicoob Credpit and Lavoi.
