Energy efficiency standards incorporated in Ariel Apartments design include ENERGY STAR-rated appliances and lighting, Low E windows, door insulation, optimum-sized HVAC systems, air transfer management, sealed duct systems, superior insulation installation and programmable thermostats.
Other standards include water-efficient faucets and shower heads, high-performance clothes washers/dryers and dishwashers, efficient plumbing design, high-performance toilets, and water-efficient landscaping, irrigation, and controls. Indoor environment quality standards include the use of low-VOC (volatile organic compounds) emitting cabinets, moisture management, spot ventilation and low VOC paint and flooring finishes.
