A bilingual university campus is being planned for construction on J. Lawson Boulevard, Lake Nona region, which can create more than 100 job vacancies and accommodates about 2,000 in-person and online students. According to President Manuel J. Fernós of the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico, the campus will increase the flow of health professionals in the region.
“With the new campus, we can expand undergraduate and graduate programs that tap into prominent Central Florida industries including health sciences, computer science and hospitality, adding to the region’s pipeline”, Inter American University of Puerto Rico President Manuel J. Fernós said said to Orlando Business Journal.
The college plans to open the school year between 2022 and 2023, in an 187,000- square feet of academic and administrative buildings, along with 192 student housing beds. The campus location will be close to approximately 55-acre parcel owned by Orange County Public Schools.
Founded in 1912, an Inter-American University of Puerto Rico has nine campuses and two specialized schools across Puerto Rico. The Lake Nona campuses will be the university’s first campus outside of Puerto Rico, which will function fully.
