New York-based Drive Shack Inc. (NYSE: DS), a new global golf entertainment company opening a location in Lake Nona, is hosting several hiring events in time for its Central Florida debut in 2018.
The estimated $20 million-$25 million sports center includes a three-story, 57,000-square-foot driving range and entertainment facility with a restaurant, lounge, bar, 90 hitting bays and meeting spaces.
The new complex is on 15 acres at 7675 Lake Nona Blvd.
Drive Shack in Lake Nona is the next piece of the 300-acre Sports & Performance District, which already features the U.S. Tennis Association’s national headquarters, a $20 million Orlando City Soccer practice facility under construction and plans for a water sports park.
This will be the company’s first location, with more slated for North Carolina, Virginia, Arizona and South Florida.
As it gears up to open in first-quarter 2018, Drive Shack will host multiple job fairs at the Guidewell Innovation Center on 6555 Sanger Road to hire servers, bar backs, bar tenders, food runners, table bussers and hosts.
It also is hiring for a restaurant supervisor, golf instruction manager, office supervisor, facility technician and more positions that can be found on the company’s career page.
The jobs fairs start on Dec. 4 at 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and run through Dec. 30.
Not only will Drive Shack create job opportunities, but each Drive Shack site is expected to cost up to $25 million to build
and will generate about $3 million-$6 million of earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, Orlando Business Journal previously reported.
Drive Shack will compete with the new Topgolf on Universal Boulevard.
