Several of the city’s field offices are temporarily without communication access after fiber optic and backup lines were severed earlier this morning, according to an email from the Office of Communications and Neighborhood Relations.(Photo via City of Orlando/Facebook)
Included within the powerless grid are Fire Station 1, the Central Garage (Parking Division main offices), Streets and Stormwater, Solid Waste, Fleet and Facilities, Parks, Transportation’s Signal and Sign Shop, and neighborhood centers in the area, possibly among others.
For the time being, the aforementioned offices will not be able to receive phone calls or have access to internet services.
“The cause of the cut in the line is unknown at this time,” the Office of Communications and Neighborhood Relations’ email states, “but is actively being investigated.”
In a separate email, Mayor Buddy Dyer’s spokesperson Cassandra Lafser said the city is actively working to restore access to all communication services.
